This explains what information Boiler Wizard collects, why, and your choices. We aim to follow UK data protection law.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email, sign-in details, Gas Safe and licence numbers, years in the industry, signature and business details you add in Settings (logo, address, phone).
- Work you save: jobs, readings, certificates, and wiring records, which can include customer, landlord and property names and addresses.
- Photos and voice: pictures you send to Diagnose, the photo inspector or scanners, and voice clips you dictate, used to answer your request.
- Community posts: jokes, quotes, photos and reactions you share on Home, shown with your initials.
- Location (optional): only if you allow it, to show the freeze forecast. It isn't stored with your account.
- Billing: your plan and subscription status. Card details are held by our payment provider, not by us.
Why we use it
To run the app, produce your records, check your Gas Safe registration, take payment, keep the service secure and answer support questions. We do not sell your information.
Customer information
When you or your company enter details about your own customers, your business decides what is collected and why. We store and process it on your behalf to provide the app. Make sure you have a proper reason to record it and tell customers how you use their details.
Who else handles it
- Our cloud hosting and database provider.
- An AI service that processes your questions, photos and voice clips to produce answers.
- Stripe, which processes subscription payments.
- Open-Meteo, which receives approximate coordinates if you use the freeze forecast.
- If you belong to a company account, the company owner can see the jobs and records you save for that company.
How long we keep it
Your records stay available while your account exists, so you can meet your own record-keeping duties. Issued certificates are kept (not deleted) to preserve the audit trail. Ask us if you want your account closed and your information removed, subject to anything we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information, or object to how it is used. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
